While attending Art School in New York City in 1984, Alan W. Vincent captured its gay black and puerto rican street subculture. The photographs were taken in all five boroughs in the city and exhibit the sexual style of dress, body language, haircuts, gold chains and sneakers which are characteristic of the Bangy Boy look.
Incredibly scarce, the Bangy Book remains one of the only photobooks documenting the Homeboy aesthetic. A brilliant fashion reference featuring killer details, self styling, and (quite surprisingly) some nudity.
