Extremely rare, incredible publication on the cult Belgian designer, Martin Margiela founder of Maison Martin Margiela. From the first solo exhibition by Maison Martin Margiela, its title is taken from the 9 years, 4 days, and 1615 hours that the house had been in business.

The book is divided into three sections: the first provides background information on the fashion house, another details the exhibited garments (Spring/Summer 1989 to Autumn/Winter 1997/98), and the last imparts explanatory information on bacteria and microbiology from a collaboration with Dutch Microbiologist Dr. A.W.S.M. van Egeraat, in which outfits were treated with different strains of bacteria, yeast, and mould, which progressively altered the color and texture of the garments during the course of the show.
