One of the jewels of youth culture documentary. Brilliant overview of youth subcultures by Hashiguchi of later ‘Seventeen’s Map’ fame. This was his first book after winning the Taiyo photography award in 1981. From Tokyo to Berlin, London, Liverpool and New York the book includes early hip hop, skinheads, second wave mods, tearaways, punks, bikers, berlin squatters, smack heads and other street types. An excellent overview of late 70s/early 80s youth tribes shot in a raw photodocumentary style.
